Accounts Payable
The Accounts Payable staff is responsible for:
- Issuance of purchase orders
- Payment of invoices and claims for the operating costs of the district
- Monitoring expenses to assure state and district regulations are met
- Accounting for all financial transactions of the district according to general accepted accounting principles

Education Protection Act
The Education Protection Account (EPA), created as a result of Proposition 30 in November 2012 (sun setting 12-31-2017), and Proposition 55 on November 8, 2016 (commencing 1-1-2018), requires that the District post the amount of funds received and spent from that account and be approved by the Wheatland School District Board.
The Wheatland School District board has approved these funds to be used for teacher salaries & Benefits.
For the 2018-19 fiscal year, Wheatland School District received $1,944,794 and Wheatland Charter Academy received $148,563 to be used for teacher salaries & benefits. In 2019-20, Wheatland School District received $1,024,628 and Wheatland Charter Academy received $69,951. For the 2020-21 fiscal year, Wheatland School District will receive $4,459,295 and Wheatland Charter Academy will receive $321,643. For the 2021-22 fiscal year, Wheatland School District anticipates receiving $3,094,744 and Wheatland Charter Academy anticipates $208,615. Fiscal Year 2022-23, Wheatland anticipates receiving $3,024,801 and Wheatland Charter Academy - $208,615.
